Adaptive temperature in the Home app
Apple describes the new feature as intelligent automation that covers multiple scenarios. The thermostat can automatically adjust when someone is on their way home, when someone is sleeping, or when the house is empty for an extended period. The iPhone uses built-in intelligence to predict when someone will be home and adjusts the temperature accordingly. When someone is away, the thermostat is lowered to save energy. Location services must also be enabled for the Home app and accessories. It's still unclear which thermostats are compatible with the new feature. Initial user experiences should provide clarity soon.
