Starting in 2026, Apple TV will significantly expand its sports offerings. Major League Soccer will be fully integrated into the regular Apple TV subscription, making all MLS games available at no extra cost. This decision builds on the existing partnership and makes Apple TV an even more important destination for live sports and premium entertainment.

MLS is experiencing a period of strong growth and increased attention, driven in part by international stars and the rising popularity of soccer in North America. With the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup in mind, Apple TV is opening its platform to all MLS content and simultaneously ending the standalone MLS Season Pass model. This significantly simplifies access and makes Apple TV a central hub for soccer fans worldwide.

Apple TV will show all MLS games free of charge starting in 2026.

Starting with the 2026 season, all MLS games will be included directly in the Apple TV subscription. This includes the entire regular season, the Leagues Cup, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, and the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Additional studio shows and extensive on-demand content will also remain part of the offering. The current MLS Season Pass subscription will expire after the 2025 season.

The change primarily brings clarity. Apple TV offers all games in one place, without regional broadcast restrictions and without additional fees. More than 100 countries and regions now have easy access to all MLS content. This unification significantly simplifies access and strengthens the league's global presence.

The strategic importance for Apple TV

For Apple TV, this decision represents a clear upgrade of its sports offerings. In addition to series, films, documentaries, and weekly releases, live sports such as Friday night baseball, Formula 1 races in the US, and now all MLS games are added to the portfolio.

Since its launch in 2019, Apple TV has steadily expanded its programming. The platform now includes hundreds of exclusive Apple Originals and thousands of hours of premium content across various genres. Its productions have garnered 640 awards and 2,872 nominations. With the integration of MLS, Apple TV further solidifies its position as a versatile entertainment platform that unites sports and high-quality content under one roof.

MLS focuses on reach and growth

Major League Soccer celebrated its 30th season this year and continues to show rising viewership, increasing stadium attendance, and growing relevance in digital and social media. Its international focus is further enhanced by well-known players such as Lionel Messi and Son Heung-Min.

The move to Apple TV supports this development. The league gains a global platform, fans worldwide get simplified access and can watch games and supplementary content in one central location. Starting in 2026, MLS club season ticket packages will also include an Apple TV subscription, further strengthening the connection between stadium experiences and digital access.

Voices from Apple and the MLS

Eddy Cue, Apple's Senior Vice President of Services, described the integration of all games into Apple TV as a win for fans worldwide. Don Garber, MLS Commissioner, sees the move as a continuation of their shared vision to create innovations for fans and make the league more accessible than ever.

Apple TV as a versatile platform

Apple TV offers much more than live sports. Its catalog includes dramas, science fiction films, comedies, documentaries, and programs for children and families. The platform runs on all popular devices and is known for its ease of use. The acquisition of MLS rights further enhances the overall offering.

Outlook for the 2025 season

Until the final transition, soccer fans can continue to use the MLS Season Pass and watch the remainder of the 2025 season and the Audi MLS Cup race on Apple TV. From 2026 onward, Apple TV will become the central hub for all MLS content and a key component in the growing North American soccer market.

A new chapter for Apple TV and the MLS

The full integration of MLS into the Apple TV subscription starting in 2026 is a significant step for both sides. Apple TV strengthens its sports offerings and provides a comprehensive, unrestricted solution for live soccer. For MLS, this creates a global reach that should play a crucial role in the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup. The platform is thus further evolving into a central hub for sports, series, movies, and high-quality premium content. (Image: Apple)
