Apple has unveiled a new accessory that straddles the line between design object and practical everyday bag: the "iPhone Pocket." It was developed in collaboration with Japanese designer Issey Miyake, known for his minimalist style and the fusion of fashion and function. Visually, the iPhone Pocket is reminiscent of a modern take on the iPod socks from 2004 – but it is significantly more exclusive and expensive.

The new accessory demonstrates once again how committed Apple is to merging technology with fashion and design. Instead of a typical smartphone case, the company has released a product that looks more like high fashion than technology. The iPhone Pocket is made from a single piece of 3D-knitted fabric, giving it a particularly premium and flexible feel. The collaboration with Issey Miyake's team is no coincidence – after all, this design studio is the one that created Steve Jobs' iconic turtleneck sweater.

An accessory that combines design and function

The iPhone Pocket is made of a stretchy fabric that can hold not only the iPhone but also small everyday items like cards or keys. The flexible material allows the fabric to be easily stretched to partially view the iPhone screen without removing the device completely.

The accessory can be worn in various ways: over the shoulder, on the wrist, or attached to a handbag. This positions the iPhone Pocket as a kind of fashionable counterpart to the well-known iPhone Crossbody Strap, but in a significantly more elegant and sophisticated version.

Apple offers two models – one with a short strap and one with a long strap. The short version costs $149.95, the longer one $229.95. There are also color differences: The short version is available in lemon, tangerine, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black. The long model is available in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.

Limited availability and exclusive markets

As with many special Apple products, availability remains limited. The company describes the iPhone Pocket as a limited edition and has not specified the number of units. The accessory will be available from November 14th only in select regions: the USA, UK, France, China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea. It will also be on display in some Apple Stores, but sales will primarily be online.

This strategy underlines Apple's usual exclusivity – the iPhone Pocket is less a mass-produced item and more a design object for enthusiasts who value details and material quality.

Apple combines technology and fashion in one accessory.

With the iPhone Pocket, Apple is launching a product that seamlessly blends technology and fashion. The accessory is functional, eye-catching, yet minimalist – perfectly in line with the company's style. The collaboration with Issey Miyake lends the project additional design authority and underscores Apple's close ties to the world of fashion.

The iPhone Pocket is therefore not only a useful accessory, but also a statement piece for anyone who loves the typical Apple style: simple, innovative, and exclusive. Anyone wanting to get their hands on one should act fast, however – demand is likely to be high, while the number available will be limited. (Image: Apple)
