With the update to iOS 17, Apple is bringing a significant improvement to iCloud Keychain - the ability to seamlessly share passwords with others. In this article, you'll learn how to use the new Family Password Sharing feature in iOS 17 to share your login information securely and conveniently.

iCloud Family Sharing has been continually expanding, and with iOS 17, iCloud Keychain gets a notable addition - sharing passwords, also known as "Family Passwords." Apple allows users to share these passwords not only with family members but also with trusted contacts. This feature promises an easier and more secure way to share and manage passwords.

Share passwords on iPhone in iOS 17 – here's how

To share passwords on your iPhone with iOS 17, open Settings and go to Passwords. Select Get Started under Family Passwords and add people you want to share your passwords with. Once you've selected the passwords you want, tap Move and send people a message to let them know they have access to password sharing. You can set up multiple groups with shared passwords and edit, add, or delete the shared passwords as needed.

Conclusion

The ability to share passwords seamlessly and securely via the iCloud Keychain in iOS 17 makes the iPhone experience even more convenient. With the new feature, trusted contacts can participate in password sharing and simplify the shared management of login data. The iCloud Keychain feature in iOS 17 thus becomes an attractive alternative to paid password managers and offers a user-friendly solution for managing passwords on Apple devices. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
