Three days before its release, Apple quietly updated its iOS 27 page. Two features that were in beta testing over the summer now carry a note indicating a later update – including one that Apple showcased extensively at WWDC.
iOS 27 will be released on September 14th for all compatible iPhones, following the final version after the Release Candidate. Apple's German iOS 27 page now lists two features with a caveat: they will only be available in a later software update. These features are automatic password changes and password suggestions in Messages.

Passwords will not change automatically for the time being
The Passwords app in iOS 27 was set to go a step further: instead of just warning about weak or compromised passwords, it would automatically access the affected websites and replace the password there. At WWDC, Apple described this as a combination of Apple Intelligence and Safari, acting on behalf of the user.
The relevant section on the product page now states that the feature will be added in a future software update. The warning function itself remains – only the automatic updating is temporarily disabled.
Suggestions in news will come later
The second feature offers relevant actions based on the context of a conversation, such as adding a calendar entry or searching for a photo. Apple is promoting it for both Messages and Mail.
The footnote explicitly mentions the suggestions for conversations in messages, which will be included in a future software update. The wording doesn't specify how long this delay will last. Regardless, a second note appears directly below the section: The feature will initially only be available in English.
What this has to do with iOS 27.1
Apple hasn't announced a date. Our expectation: The next update will be iOS 27.1, and its timeframe is already set – the version must be ready by October 23rd at the latest, as the iPhone Duo ships with it. Whether both features will be included is unclear; what is certain is that there will be an update before the end of October that would accommodate them.
Why this is more than a side note
Both features belong to the type Apple used to demonstrate the practical benefits of Apple Intelligence – software that automates tasks in the background instead of generating images. Automatic password changes were the most ambitious example of this, as they operate independently on external websites. Features like these need to be proven reliable before they are rolled out to millions of devices.
For everyday use in this country, little changes: The password app will continue to warn against weak and compromised passwords; only the actual replacement of passwords remains a manual process. And the suggestions would only have become relevant for German-speaking users with the addition of language support anyway.
