The fourth season of Shrinking has wrapped. Just over five months after filming began, Jessica Williams has announced the end of production. A release date hasn't been set yet, but the schedule is getting tighter.
Apple TV renewed Shrinking for a fourth season even before the third had premiered. In May, Harrison Ford casually mentioned that filming would begin the following week. Jason Segel confirmed in early June that cameras had been rolling for about two weeks.
Production has now ended. This was revealed in an Instagram post by Jessica Williams, who plays therapist Gaby in the series.

From the extension to the end of the shoot
The fourth season had an unusually long lead time. Apple announced the renewal on January 28, the same day season 3 premiered. The season 3 finale aired on April 8, concluding the originally planned three-season arc.

With at least twelve episodes, season 4 will be slightly longer than the third. The ensemble cast, including Jason Segel as Jimmy and Harrison Ford as Paul, will remain.
When could season 4 start?
After filming wraps, post-production begins, including editing, sound, and music. The previous seasons premiered in January 2023, October 2024, and January 2026.
However, one detail argues against a very early release date. Apple had already announced the January 28th premiere of season 3 on October 21st, 2025 – 99 days in advance. No release date for season 4 was set at the end of October.
A January start would be tight
I expect a start in the first quarter of 2027, more likely February or March than January. Given the same lead time as with season 3, a release date at the end of January should have already been announced. However, a January start isn't entirely out of the question, as there's no fixed lead time.
