Apple has already uploaded product images of its upcoming Home devices to its files. The HomePod mini 2 will have a new color palette, while the Apple TV 4K will remain externally unchanged. However, for users in German-speaking countries, the real question lies elsewhere.
That Apple is preparing new models of the HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K has been considered a given for months. Most recently, indications of a new Apple TV 4K this fall intensified. Now, official product images have surfaced for the first time: Aaron Perris found them in Apple's code and analyzed them for MacRumors – showing the HomePod mini 2 in all colors and the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K.
The same find also provides evidence for the iPad mini 8 and the iPad 12.

HomePod mini 2: New colors, familiar shape
The images show the HomePod mini 2 in five colors. Green and pink are new, and MacRumors believes the blue appears lighter than on the current model. White and black complete the range. Yellow and orange, which are still available today, are no longer included.

The color names of the new palette describe the images; Apple has not yet assigned official names.
The design remains unchanged. The fabric covering, illuminated top, and proportions are identical to the model Apple introduced in October 2020. The innovations are likely internal: the current HomePod software already includes the system behind Siri AI, along with the new light ring. Apple TV 4K: Fourth generation in the familiar casing
The evidence for the Apple TV 4K is less conclusive. Apple's code contains a product image labeled "Apple TV 4K (4th generation)" showing the small black box with rounded corners – visually indistinguishable from the current model. The files provide no further details.
Apple introduced the current Apple TV 4K in October 2022; it uses the A15 Bionic chip and 4 GB of RAM. This doesn't meet the requirements for Apple Intelligence, and the final hardware of its successor was reportedly designed primarily for Siri AI. An earlier discovery in Apple's code already hinted at an A19-generation chip for the new Apple TV 4K.
At the same time, Apple is preparing the system for more home theater capabilities. Currently, one HomePod or a stereo pair can be used as speakers for the TV with the Apple TV 4K; however, in the current beta of tvOS 27.2, the Apple TV 4K can already output audio through four HomePods simultaneously.
Siri AI will not be available in German for now
Both devices are primarily associated with Siri AI. And that's precisely the catch for German-speaking users: Siri AI is initially only available in English. With iOS 27.2, expected at the end of October, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish will be added. German is not among them.
Anyone who wants to use the function for which both devices are built at launch must switch Siri to English.
The fact that the product images are already in Apple's code suggests an imminent unveiling. We expect the HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K to arrive in October, along with the iPad mini 8, which also came from the same source. If you're primarily waiting for the new devices because of Siri AI, the language support is more important than the exact release date.
