tvOS 26 uses Thread 1.4 for a better Apple Home

With tvOS 26, Apple is making targeted improvements to the smart home experience. These devices can act as so-called Thread border routers. This means they connect the Thread network to your regular home network and allow you to control your devices via iPhone or Siri. Since iOS 18, it's also been possible to control Thread accessories directly via the iPhone – without the need for a border router.
