iPadOS 13 - How to enlarge app icons and text

With the introduction of iPadOS 13, Apple has given the iPad its own operating system and significantly improved the tablet. On its way to becoming a laptop replacement, the Apple tablet offers more features than ever before.

Under iPadOS 13 A lot of new functions have been introduced. For example, the iPad can be used with the mouse or serve as a second screen for the Mac. The new operating system also allows apps to be used in multiple instances and much more. Among the new features are improvements to the layout of the home screen. From now on, 30 apps can be stored on the iPad's home screen - previously there was a maximum of 20. But this comes at a price: if you choose this option, the icons and text appear much smaller and not everyone likes that. This setting is adopted by default with iPadOS 13 - but it can be changed.

How to enlarge app icons and text in iPadOS 13

To enlarge the app icons, you need to open the "Display & Brightness" section in the iPadOS settings. Now you can change the home screen layout further down. There are two options available here - "More" or "Larger". If you choose the "More" option, you can place up to 30 apps in a smaller format on one page; if you choose "Larger", a maximum of 20 apps can be placed per page in a slightly larger format.

Please note: If you choose the "Larger" layout, you cannot fix the "Today view" on the home screen. Of course, you can also make the app name appear larger. To do this, you have to activate the "Bold text" option in the settings under "Display & brightness". However, this adjustment does not only apply to the app names, but is adopted system-wide.
