Apple Fitness+ is once again the focus of strategic considerations at Apple. The fitness service has complemented the company's growing health offerings since 2020, providing guided workouts, meditations, and regular new content. However, recent reports indicate that Apple is planning fundamental changes. Following an internal review, Apple Fitness+ could transition into a new, significantly more comprehensive health service as early as next year.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported last week that Apple Fitness+ is currently "under review." He now elaborates on his findings in his latest Power On newsletter. The new information suggests that Apple could consolidate its fitness offerings as part of a broader overhaul of its health services. This would significantly impact the existing service and potentially change the entire subscription structure.

Possible integration with Apple Health+

Gurman reports that Apple Fitness+ could become part of a new service called Apple Health+ in the future. This service is expected to launch next year and will play a central role in Apple's health ecosystem. In this model, Apple Fitness+ would no longer be a standalone subscription, but rather part of a more comprehensive offering.

According to previous information from Gurman, Apple Health+ will include an AI-based health coach. This coach will provide nutritional advice, help define training goals, offer motivational tips, and deliver general health information. This would allow Apple to more closely integrate its fitness offering with personalized advice and data-driven recommendations.

What Apple Fitness+ offers today

The current service was launched in 2020 and is aimed at people who want to use guided workouts and meditations directly on their iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. The content is led by professional trainers and is continuously updated. In Germany, the price is €9.99 per month or €79.99 per year.

Additionally, Apple Fitness+ is part of the Apple One premium package. In Germany, this package costs €34.95 per month. This allows users to bundle several Apple services.

How Apple One could influence the future of the service

Gurman believes it's possible that Apple One will become more flexible in the future. Users could choose which services are included in their subscription package. This more modular model would mean that Apple Fitness+ could continue to exist as a standalone option, even if it's officially integrated into Apple Health+.

This consideration does not appear to be finalized yet. However, it demonstrates that Apple is preparing various scenarios to support as many user models as possible while simultaneously expanding its healthcare offerings.

Where Apple Fitness+ could be headed in the coming year

Evidence is mounting that Apple Fitness+ is facing a major restructuring. Integration with Apple Health+ would expand the service and more closely link it to AI features and health data. At the same time, the current subscription model could change or even be discontinued. Whether Apple Fitness+ remains independent in the long term or is fully absorbed into the new service also depends on how Apple designs future subscription packages. However, it's clear that Apple wants to consolidate and intelligently connect its health offerings. For users, this means a broader range of services related to training, nutrition, and coaching, more deeply integrated into the existing Apple ecosystem. (Image: Apple)
