Trade-ins, installments and accessories
In Germany, the iPhone Duo can be paid for in 24 interest-free installments, starting at €95.79 per month for the entry-level version. For older devices, Apple offers trade-in credits of between €30 and €1,020 in Germany, between €40 and €880 in Austria, and between CHF 30 and CHF 700 in Switzerland. Apple also states that selected services are included free of charge for three months.
The iPhone Duo can be insured with AppleCare+ for theft and loss for €20.99 per month or €209.99 per year. Without a protection plan, damage becomes expensive: According to Apple, a single replacement alone costs €100. Damage to the interior display: €1,149, With AppleCare, it costs 99 euros.

Apple itself offers two cases, which can also be ordered starting today. The iPhone Duo Case in sand and navy blue costs €89 in Germany, while the Folio with integrated stand in navy blue and taupe costs €149.

iOS 27.1 out of the box
According to Apple, the iPhone Duo will ship with iOS 27.1. This version includes adjustments for the two displays, such as the vertical dock, the vertical Dynamic Island, and the ability to view two apps side-by-side. There was no public beta testing phase for iOS 27.1, and there are two likely explanations for skipping it.
The delivery date as the first signal
I believe the delivery date in the first few hours is the most revealing figure for this launch. Several reports had anticipated limited availability for pre-orders. If the delivery date quickly slips beyond October 23rd, that would suggest a limited supply rather than weak demand.
Incidentally, those who buy in-store instead of online will receive the same start as with any other iPhone in this country: The personal greeting with name is only supposed to be available in the US stores.
