AirDrop codes for temporary sharing
iOS 26.2 expands AirDrop with a new feature that simplifies sharing with unsaved contacts. Using AirDrop Codes, two devices can be paired for up to thirty days. After entering the code, the devices become visible to each other without creating a contact or opening AirDrop globally for everyone. Management is handled centrally through Settings, where active sharing can be individually deleted or completely reset. This feature bridges the gap between long-term connections and short-term sharing.
Reminders are given a real alarm function
The Reminders app has been significantly enhanced with new features. Reminders can now be triggered like an alarm clock, including an alarm sound, snooze function, and direct control from the lock screen. Reminder alarms are color-coded to distinguish them from traditional alarm clocks, and a countdown timer is displayed while snoozing. This feature makes reminders more reliable and prevents important tasks from being overlooked.
More control over the time on the lock screen
The lock screen gets a new Liquid Glass slider. This allows for fine-tuning the transparency of the clock and more precise adaptation to different wallpapers. Unlike the previous two fixed display options, the new solution allows for stepless adjustment and integrates seamlessly into the wider Liquid Glass design of iOS 26.
Freeform now supports tables
Freeform receives an important new feature in iOS 26.2. Tables can now be created and populated directly within projects and combined with other elements such as text, images, or lists. This addition makes the app more versatile and primarily improves structured planning and teamwork.
Podcast app with more orientation
The podcast app is receiving three enhancements that improve navigation and context.
