The Coronavirus – Hey Siri, am I infected? Siri will answer this question from now on.
According to a new CNBC report, Apple recently updated Siri. According to this, the virtual voice assistant can now do more with the novel coronavirus. This means that if users ask the question "Am I infected with the coronavirus?", for example, the assistant will ask a series of questions. Specifically, it will ask whether the user has symptoms of COVID-19. If these are ultimately classified as life-threatening, Siri recommends calling 911. Alternatively, a recommendation to stay at home and avoid contact with other people could also be the result. The virtual voice assistant obtains the questions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). According to the report:
Siri will ask users if they are experiencing symptoms of the illness, such as fever, dry cough, or shortness of breath. Siri will advise people who say they have extreme or life-threatening symptoms to consider calling 911.
If users say their symptoms are not extreme or life-threatening, Siri instructs people to stay home and avoid contact with others, and advises them to contact a healthcare provider if their condition worsens.

It is not clear whether the new Siri update will be available in other countries. So far, the whole thing is only available in the USA.
