A few hours ago, Apple launched a new subpage for the Apple Card and invited a small number of customers to try out the credit card in advance.

A small number of US users have received an email invitation from Cupertino for the Apple Card. This allows direct access to the new credit card from Cupertino. Users who have received such an email will be redirected to a new sub-domain titled "You're almost there“ – where the Apple Card is presented with an important note. According to the information, all selected users can apply for the Apple Card directly via their Wallet application – the applications can also be sent via the iPad.

The requirements are very clear. Interested parties must be at least 18 years old and resident in the USA. In addition, the respective iPhone or iPad must have Touch ID or Face ID and iOS 12.4 - the iPhone 5S is not supported - as Apple notes. Two-factor authentication must also be activated.

criteria unclear

The application process is demonstrated in the form of a short video. The email contains another link – this takes the user to the main page of the Apple CardHere, all interested parties can register to receive automatic notification when the credit card becomes generally available. AppleInsider According to reports, the group of selected iPhone users is particularly small. The platform claims to have learned this from insiders. It is still unclear what criteria were used to select them. The step can also be described as a pre-launch. It is still unknown when the Apple Card will be available to all users. Tim Cook has only confirmed the launch in August - he did not give a specific date.

How to apply for the Apple Card

To apply for the Apple Card, the user must first open the Wallet application. Now the small "+" symbol in the top right must be tapped. Then the Apple Card option is selected. If the data in the Apple ID has been correctly stored, the form is filled out automatically. The next step is a credit check. The user is informed of the result by Goldman Sachs within a few seconds. If the check is positive, the interest rate and credit limit are displayed - the user can now accept the offer.

The credit card is then stored in the Wallet app and is ready for use straight away. If the first application is rejected, the respective candidate is informed of this. They must then provide further information about themselves. Depending on creditworthiness, the effective annual interest rate should be between 13.24 and 24.24 percent. The Apple Card itself should be free for all users. You can find out what restrictions the new payment method has here hereEverything about Apple's credit card can be found in our Summary read it.
