When releasing the quarterly figures, Softbank President Ken Miyauchi hinted at the launch of the iPhone 11. The date would fit into Apple's typical timeframe.

Softbank is a Japanese telecommunications and media group that covers various areas. During the meeting, Miyauchi was asked about the upcoming implementation of a revised telecommunications law in Japan. The change in the law is set to come into force on October 1st of this year. One of the reporters present asked a question about the upcoming iPhone 11 in connection with the new law. Miyauchi then jokingly replied that he did not know what to do in the ten days between the release and the entry into force of the law.

"I'm honestly thinking about what I should do in these ten days. Sorry, I shouldn't say that. Nobody knows when the new iPhone will be released," said Miyauchi.

This means that the iPhone 11 will go on sale on September 20th – a date that is already expected and in our own analysis Apple usually announces new iPhone models at an event in September. This usually takes place on a Tuesday or Wednesday. This year, the keynote is expected to take place on Tuesday, September 10th. Three iPhone models are expected again. Two of the devices are expected to replace the iPhone XS and XS Max - the third model will be the successor to the iPhone XR.

Camera and battery increase on the iPhone 11

One of the biggest innovations is a comprehensive camera update. The two top models are set to come with a triple camera, while the cheaper entry-level model will have a dual camera for the first time. In addition, all three devices are set to be equipped with a larger battery, as the new iPhone generation supports bilateral wireless charging. This means that users can charge their accessories such as the new AirPods on the back of the iPhone 11 and Co. It is also expected that the new iPhone models will be delivered without 3D Touch. A new Taptic Engine is set to be used here. Everything we already know about the upcoming iPhone generation can be found in our large Summary read it.
