Apple is updating its Self Service Repair Store with spare parts and tools for numerous new products – including in the EU.

Since 2022, Apple has offered original replacement parts, specialized tools, and repair manuals for tech-savvy users through its Self Service Repair Store. Those with experience repairing electronic devices can perform many common repairs themselves—using the same parts and tools found in Apple Stores and at authorized service providers. Today, Apple has expanded the store to include parts and tools for a whole range of new products.

New products in the Self Service Repair Store

Today's update concerns spare parts for the following devices:

  • MacBook Neo
  • iPhone 17e
  • iPad Air (M4) – Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular, 11 and 13 inches respectively
  • MacBook Air (M5) – 13 and 15 inch
  • MacBook Pro (M5 Pro and M5 Max) – 14 and 16 inch
  • Studio Display (2026)
  • Studio Display XDR

Parts for the iPhone 17e, including the back glass and the bottom speaker, are now available. For the Studio Display XDR, the housing, fan, and logic board can be ordered. Tools for the respective repairs are also available immediately. Apple had already published corresponding repair manuals with step-by-step instructions in mid-March.

Good news for MacBook Neo owners

This feature is particularly relevant for the MacBook Neo. Apple's new entry-level notebook was already praised for its repairability during the teardown. According to iFixit, the device can be disassembled in just six minutes, uses standard Torx screws, and doesn't require adhesive tape on the battery. For the first time in about a decade, the keyboard on an Apple laptop can also be replaced separately – previously, this required replacing the entire top case, which was significantly more expensive.

Also available in the EU

The new replacement parts and tools are not only available in the US store. The European Self Service Repair Store has also been updated. Users in Germany and other EU countries can now order the parts for the devices mentioned. Apple now offers the Self Service Repair program in 32 European countries, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the UK.

Replaced parts can be returned to Apple. In many cases, a credit towards the purchase price is issued. Tools are available for both purchase and rental – the rental toolkit is delivered free of charge for one week.

Repair or have it repaired

The Self Service Repair Program is specifically designed for users with technical experience. Apple still recommends consulting an authorized service provider or Apple Store if you are unsure. The repair manuals contain detailed instructions for each step – from opening the case to the final calibration of the new components. (Image: Shutterstock / Parilov)

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
