Apple announced exciting news for iCloud users at the iPhone 15 event. The introduction of 6 TB and 12 TB iCloud storage options offers even more space for personal data.

Previously, Apple offered a maximum of 2 TB of iCloud storage for €9.99/month. But starting September 18, this will change and users will be able to choose between the new, more generous options. It's important to note, however, that with more storage comes a higher monthly cost. The new iCloud storage plans are impressive, but they don't offer a financial benefit to every user.

Apple offers new iCloud storage plans

The 6TB plan will cost $29.99 per month in the US, while the 12TB plan is twice as expensive at $59.99 per month. (In Germany, the price is likely to be €29.99 and €59.99, respectively.) Still, these plans could be a solution for those who have already maxed out their previous 4TB quota (2TB iCloud + 2TB Apple One). It's also important to note that these plans include the benefits of iCloud+, including features like iCloud Private Relay and HomeKit Secure Video. Another plus is the ability to share storage with up to six people via Family Sharing. However, it remains unclear whether these new storage options can be combined with an Apple One Premier subscription to add an additional 2TB of storage. If possible, users could get an impressive 14 terabytes of iCloud storage in total.

Conclusion

The introduction of 6TB and 12TB iCloud storage options offers a welcome expansion for Apple users looking for more storage space. Despite the higher cost, these plans could be the solution for those who have already exceeded their previous storage needs. The larger iCloud plans will be available from Monday, September 18th and will offer users the option to securely store their personal photos, videos, documents and data. Looking for new accessories?
