A power bank is one of the most important accessories these days. It can charge smartphones, tablets and laptops on the go. Dozens of models are tested every year - but which of these power banks are actually recommended? We've summarized the current results from 2019 for you.

A power bank that is good for your iPhone is not automatically recommended for your MacBook. Why? The answer lies in the charging capacity. Some users need a powerful power bank for several devices - for others, just one product for their smartphone - for example, iPhone - is enough. So if you want to buy a new power bank or just replace an old one, you will find a list of the best power banks available in 2019 below.

The best power banks up to 10,000 mAh

The following three models are small portable batteries that can charge your iPhone or smartphone one to three times on average. This depends entirely on the size of the battery. Charging smaller tablets would also be possible. The Yoolox model also supports wireless charging - placing the smartphone on the surface of the power bank is enough to start the charging process.

The best power banks up to 20,000 mAh

The next three models are more powerful products - they can charge iPhones, iPads, etc. much more often. The larger power bank version from Yoolox also supports wireless charging. All three models can charge several devices at the same time if desired. So if you are often on the go and have a higher budget, you should go for one of these products.

The best power banks with more than 20,000 mAh

The next three power bank models are particularly recommended for users who travel a lot. Users of an iPad or other tablet should also use one of these models. Cameras can also benefit from the significantly higher capacity. All three models also support the simultaneous charging of more than one device.

The best power banks with USB-C connection

A USB-C port is around five times faster than its predecessor. Since this new port is becoming more and more of a standard port, a power bank with this port is a good option to buy. In addition to the new MacBook models, the current iPad Pro generation is also delivered with USB-C. There are now dozens of smartphones with such a port - the Nintendo Switch is also equipped with such a port. The power bank models listed below can charge other devices in addition to iPhones, iPads and MacBooks - charging more than one device at the same time is also possible.

As you can see, battery capacity can vary greatly between power banks. Some offer less than 1000mAh while others can go well over 20,000mAh. When deciding on the size of the power bank, there are three factors to consider: How big is your phone's battery? For example, how long will you have to go without access to a power source? Do you want to charge more than one device? The average capacity of a battery in a modern smartphone is usually between 2500mAh and 4000mAh. Based on this, it would be best to get a power bank that is at least the same capacity as the phone. Luckily, this is not that difficult - after all, there is no power bank under 5000mAh in this list. If there are any changes, we will update the article.
