Apple has introduced a new feature called “Optimized Battery Charging” in iOS 13. This is intended to extend the overall battery health of an iOS device.

Never have problems with iPhone battery life again, that would be awesome – iOS 13 should make it possible. The new function can be found in the battery section of the settings under "Battery status" - it learns from the user's personal habits and analyses the charging behavior. The result leads to an individual adaptation of the function to the user and ensures less wear and tear on the iPhone battery.

The iPhone is willing to learn under iOS 13

For example, if you leave your iPhone plugged in every night, Apple's new feature recognizes this and only charges the iPhone to 80 percent. The remaining 20 percent are finally charged around an hour before you get up. The iPhone thus delays full charging in order to protect the general condition of the battery - the feature is intended to keep the "maximum capacity" at 100 percent for significantly longer.

Apple writes that the feature will be useful for users in the long run. Users only need to activate the “Optimized Battery Charging” feature via the “Settings” in the “Battery” menu in iOS 13.

More transparency

Battery health has been a particularly hot topic over the past year after it was revealed that iOS devices with damaged batteries had their processor speeds throttled down in an effort to extend the life of the devices as long as possible. (Here you can find out everything about the battery status of your iPhone) This issue prompted Apple to reveal more about overall iPhone battery life and implement additional details about capacity and performance in the Battery section of iOS Settings. Whether your iPhone iOS 13 supported you will find out here – more on the topic Fix iPhone Battery Life Problems can be found here. (Image: C00)
