The iPhone and iOS offer numerous features aimed at making the user experience as intuitive and enjoyable as possible. One of these features is the Share menu, which is often used to share content with contacts quickly and efficiently. But sometimes the automatically suggested contacts can be more of a hindrance than a help. Below we'll show you how to remove suggested contacts from your iPhone's share menu.

iOS's Share menu, also known as the Share Sheet, suggests contacts you've recently interacted with. This feature is usually helpful, but it can also raise privacy concerns or just be annoying if you don't want to see the same contacts all the time. Fortunately, iOS offers the flexibility to customize this feature to your liking.

Show contacts less often in the share menu

If you use an iPhone, you've probably already discovered the convenient Share button. Follow these simple steps to reduce the number of suggested contacts:

  • Use the Share button: In any app, tap the Share button (the box with the outward arrow).
  • Select contact: Long press the contact you want to see less often.
  • Choose an option: In the popover menu that appears, select “Suggest less.”
  • Note that this change does not guarantee that the contact will disappear permanently, but by repeatedly applying this setting, the system will learn to better take your preferences into account.

Remove all contacts from iPhone sharing menu

To completely deactivate contact suggestions, proceed as follows:

  • Open Settings: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
  • Navigate to Siri & Search: Scroll down and select Siri & Search.
  • Disable suggestions: Under the "Apple Suggestions" section, you'll find the option "Show when sharing." Turn this switch off to remove all contact suggestions.

Undo the settings

If you change your mind and want to re-enable contact suggestions, you can simply turn the “Show when sharing” switch back on.

Instructions: Customize contact suggestions on iPhone

Customizing the sharing menu on your iPhone can help you better protect your privacy and customize the interface to your needs. Whether you just want to see certain contacts less often or just want to turn off all suggestions, iOS gives you back control. Use these tips to make your iPhone experience even more personal and less distracting. Looking for new accessories?
