Apple is about to unveil the next generation of software for the Apple Vision Pro. However, according to new information from Cupertino, the update for the headset will be significantly more subdued than its predecessor – with a clear focus on a different key aspect.
While iOS 27 and macOS 27 are expected to receive visible design changes and an expanded AI package, visionOS 27 is likely to be the quietest update within this year's software family. A new report suggests a release primarily focused on stability and ensuring functional parity with the other platforms. Performance optimizations, bug fixes, and system-wide consistency with the other 27 versions are the main priorities.

The new Siri is also coming to the Vision Pro
One new feature stands out in the otherwise understated package: the new Siri. What iOS 27 and its sister systems inherit from Apple Intelligence will also be available in visionOS 27. A "quiet" update might sound disappointing at first, but it's strategically sound. The Vision Pro doesn't need the next big feature extravaganza, but rather a platform that feels reliable and integrates seamlessly with other Apple devices. If the new Siri and AI tools are on par with iOS 27, that's a significant improvement – especially since the headset, without a mouse, keyboard, or traditional touchscreen, is the most natural playground for voice-controlled AI within the Apple ecosystem.
It remains to be seen whether Apple will pull a surprise out of the hat during WWDC on June 8th. Previous rumors at least point to some adjustments that haven't yet been mentioned in the reports. We'll have final confirmation on the day of the keynote.
