Rumors about redesigned M1X MacBook Pro models have been circulating on the internet for some time. But there has been some confusion about when Apple will introduce these new devices. Now leaker @Dylandkt claims that Apple will introduce the new MacBook Pro models in the fourth quarter of 2021 together with a new Mac mini.
According to the leaker Apple plans to launch new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models "in late October or early November." Back in May, Dylan backed other reports that the new MacBook Pro would feature a brand-new look with flat edges, reduced bezels, and expanded ports—including an SD card reader, MagSafe, and an HDMI port. These would also be the first Macs with an improved version of the M1 chip, which was the first Apple Silicon chip to feature ARM architecture.
MacBook Pro 2021: “M1X is an extension of the M1”
The leaker believes that the M1X "will be an extension of the M1, including more Thunderbolt channels, CPU cores, GPU cores, support for multiple external monitors, and higher power consumption." In another tweet, Dylan claims that Apple won't introduce a new iMac Pro. However, the Mac mini is expected to be updated as part of the announcement. Although Dylan has a mixed track record with leaks, he recently got it right. This is certainly true regarding details about the new M1 iMac and the 2021 iPad Pro. Incidentally, today's statement contradicts Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who recently claimed that Apple will unveil redesigned MacBook Pro models this summer.
