The well-known and accurate Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published a new forecast that also includes an ARM-based Mac. According to this, he expects Apple to introduce a Mac with its own processor in the first half of 2021. In recent years, there have been many reports that Apple is working on its own core for Macs - but there has not been a concrete date so far. Kuo emphasized again that the funding of research, development and production of 5nm chips, which are expected in the first Macs with ARM CPUs, is being made more aggressive due to the coronavirus epidemic. The reason is Apple's plan to integrate the first 5nm chips into iPhones and iPads this year. Mac devices are to follow in 2021. It is generally expected that the first 5nm chips will be delivered to Apple in the middle of this year.
iPad Pro with mini-LED to be released in late 2020
During this note to investors, Kuo announced an iPad Pro with mini-LED. The striking thing about it is that it is due to be released at the end of 2020 and will have a 5nm chip. However, an update to the iPad Pro is expected as early as March, albeit without a mini-LED panel. Kuo contradicts some other reports. It should be noted, however, that Kuo is not alone in this statement. Macotakara claims to have learned only today that Apple wants to present an iPad Pro with mini-LED at the end of 2020. According to this, the device could actually be released later than many expect, as two updates within a year are more than unlikely.
Switching represents a big change
