Apple TV is continuing the dark thriller comedy starring Tatiana Maslany. Just over three months after the first season finale, the streaming service has confirmed a second season. A release date has not yet been announced.
"Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed" premiered on Apple TV on May 20, 2026, and was among the new releases in May. On October 14, Apple announced its renewal for a second season.
The series is the brainchild of creator and showrunner David J. Rosen, and directed by David Gordon Green. Alongside Maslany, Jake Johnson plays one of the main roles.
Key Facts at a Glance
- Apple TV has renewed "Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed" for a second season.
- The first season, consisting of ten episodes, ran from May to July and is available to watch in its entirety.
- According to Apple, the series is available worldwide on Apple TV, including in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
What the series is about
The story centers on Paula, played by Maslany, a recently divorced mother. She believes she has witnessed a crime and is drawn into a maelstrom of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer. Simultaneously, she fights for custody of her child and grapples with her own identity.
Their investigation could uncover a larger conspiracy and be the key to finding their family and themselves again. The cast also includes Murray Bartlett, Dolly De Leon, Brandon Flynn, and Jessy Hodges.
A title from the spam folder
In the statement, Rosen thanks Apple, as well as the cast and crew. He also shares an anecdote: all of this is quite astonishing for a series whose title came from a spam email.
The series is produced by Apple Studios and Counterpart Studios. Executive producers include Rosen and Green, as well as Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, and Bard Dorros.
Three months from the final to the acceptance
The ten episodes of the first season aired weekly on Wednesdays, with the finale following on July 15th. Ninety-one days passed before the series was renewed on October 14th. In the meantime, Apple TV also continued other series, such as the second season of "Imperfect Women" in early October.
| Season 1 | Date |
|---|---|
| Starting with two episodes | May 20, 2026 |
| final | July 15, 2026 |
| extension | October 14, 2026 |
For latecomers, now is the time to get started
I think the renewal is a logical step because the series has a lead actress in Maslany who carries it, and because the first season is complete. Anyone who hasn't yet started watching can binge-watch all ten episodes on Apple TV without having to wait for weekly releases.
