When Apple introduced the iPhone 12 series, there were differences in the camera functions of the two Pro models. With the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, this is all changing. This means that both devices have the same camera functions.

Users who are interested in the camera features of the iPhone 13 Pro models don't necessarily have to buy the Max model this year to have all the features. The reason is that both Pro models have the same camera features. Here's an overview:

iPhone 13 Pro series: This is what the camera can do

  • 12 MP Pro camera system: telephoto, wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lens
  • Telephoto lens: ƒ/2.8 aperture
  • Wide angle: ƒ/1.5 aperture
  • Ultra wide angle: ƒ/1.8 aperture and 120° field of view
  • 3x optical zoom in, 2x optical zoom out, 6x optical zoom range
  • Up to 15x digital zoom
  • Night mode portraits through the LiDAR scanner
  • Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and depth control
  • Portrait lighting with six effects (Natural, Studio, Contour, Stage, Stage Mono, High-Key Mono)
  • Dual optical image stabilization (telephoto and wide-angle lens)
  • Optical image stabilization with sensor shift (wide angle)
  • 6-element lens (telephoto and ultra-wide angle), 7-element lens (wide angle)
  • True Tone flash with slow sync
  • panoramic image (up to 63 MP)
  • sapphire crystal lens cover
  • 100 % Focus Pixel (wide angle)
  • night mode
  • Deep Fusion
  • Smart HDR 4
  • Photographic Styles
  • Macro photos
  • Apple ProRAW
  • Photos and Live Photos with wide color space
  • lens correction (ultra wide angle)
  • Advanced red-eye correction
  • Geotagging for photos
  • Automatic image stabilization
  • burst mode
  • Recorded image formats: HEIF and JPEG

The information comes from Apple's product page Some will remember, for example, that optical image stabilization in the iPhone 12 series was reserved for the Pro Max. That means the iPhone 12 Pro missed out. This year, both Pro devices have the feature. Since the camera is now identical, the two models only differ in screen size (6.1″ and 6.7″) and battery life - cool, right?! All four iPhone versions can be pre-ordered from Apple from Friday, September 17th. Delivery is scheduled to begin on September 24th. (Image: Apple)
