In addition to the two cheaper iPhone 13 models, Apple also introduced the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Below you will find a summary of all the new features.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, which were launched on Tuesday along with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini presented make up Apple's premium smartphone range. Like their predecessors, the Pro models also offer some additional bonuses compared to their non-Pro models. Apple has kept the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screens as the iPhone 12 Pro. But now Apple has introduced ProMotion support. The variable refresh rate enables smoother animations at up to 120 Hz.
iPhone 13 Pro: Lenses get bigger
Inside the iPhone 13 Pro is the A15 Bionic processor, which Apple says is 50% faster than the "closest competitor." It uses a 6-core CPU and 4-core GPU, as well as the 16-core Neural Engine, which is even faster than the previous version.
On the back is the familiar triple camera setup with larger lenses than previous versions. This year, the sensors are larger so more light can be captured, improving low-light shots. The telephoto lens now has a 77mm focal length and 3x optical zoom while the wide-angle lens has an f/1.5 aperture and up to 2.2x improvement in low-light shots. The new ultra-wide camera has an f/1.8 aperture, offers a 92%y improvement in low-light shots, and features a six-element lens with autofocus.
Prices, colors, storage capacities and availability
The iPhone 13 Pro's new ultra-wide-angle camera has an improved lens system that allows macro shots to be taken with subjects just two centimeters away from the lens. Apple offers the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max in four different colors: graphite, gold, silver, and the brand new Sierra Blue. The devices are available with 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and a whopping terabyte. Prices start at 1,149 euros and can cost up to 1,829 euros depending on the version. In terms of availability, Apple says both devices can be pre-ordered from Friday, September 17th. Delivery is scheduled to begin on September 24th.
