Apple has released the seventh beta version of iOS 26. At the same time, new developer versions were also released for iPadOS 26, macOS 26 ("Tahoe"), watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26. The builds are available through the Apple Developer Program and can be installed via Software Update as usual, provided an active developer profile is set up.
The release comes just one week after Beta 6, confirming Apple's weekly release schedule during the final stages of its summer beta phase. This pace indicates that development is nearing completion. The final version is expected in September, likely coinciding with the unveiling of the next iPhone generation.
The focus is on fine-tuning and stability
At the time of publication, there are no official indications of new visible features or design changes. Beta 7 focuses on stability optimization, bug fixes, and fine-tuning existing features. At this late stage in a beta cycle, it is common to stop adding new features and focus on internal improvements. The foundation remains the tweaks from previous versions. In Beta 6, these included, among other things, new ringtones such as Buoyant, Dreamer, Tech, Pop, Reflected, Surge, and Little Bird; refined Liquid Glass effects in the UI; faster app animations; changes to the Camera app; a post-install introductory video; and a redesigned Preview app layout. Also discovered in Beta 6 was a reference to a new AirPods gesture for real-time translation, which is linked to Apple Intelligence.
Public beta coming soon
As with previous versions, Beta 7 is initially aimed at developers. A new public beta, technically identical to the developer version, is expected to be released in the coming days.
iOS 26 nearing completion
With its weekly update schedule, Apple is working on the final details. One or two more betas are expected before the official launch in September. Beta 7 doesn't bring any major visible changes, but it does solidify stability and demonstrates that iOS 26 is almost ready for broader rollout.
