Apple has released the fourth beta version of iOS 26.1. iPadOS 26.1, macOS 26.1 ("Tahoe"), watchOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1, and visionOS 26.1 are also available as new test versions. The release comes one week after the third beta and indicates that Apple is nearing the final polish of this software generation. Fine work and stability
The fourth beta focuses on stability. Apple traditionally uses this phase to fix minor bugs, optimize system processes, and improve performance on older devices. References to new interfaces for third-party AI have been discovered in the code of previous betas, suggesting an upcoming opening of the system. Performance and system behavior
As with every late beta release, Apple is focusing on fine-tuning. Overall performance appears stable, and system responses are fluid. App launches, animations, and multitasking run largely smoothly. Battery life also appears to be on par with previous betas. However, minor optimizations in power management are likely, as Apple regularly adjusts these in the background without officially documenting them.
Availability and outlook
iOS 26.1 Beta 4 is initially available to registered developers and can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Program. The public beta version is expected to follow shortly.
