Apple released the third beta of iOS 13.4 a few hours ago and made some changes. But what is particularly interesting is "OS Recovery" - a new feature for restoring iPhones and iPads.

The preview of iOS 13.4 has already revealed some unpublished features and provided insight into new products. This time, too, there is an interesting leak. The US blog 9to5mac reports that the third beta of iOS 13.4 contains a function that allows an iPhone or iPad to be restored over the Internet. If an iPhone or iPad stops working, it usually has to be restored via a Mac or PC. But Apple now seems to be revising this process. The new code is said to contain instructions that should enable an over-the-air restore. This means that if an iPhone or iPad needs to be restored, users could initiate this process directly over the Internet without the need for a Mac or PC.

The feature is called “OS Recovery” and offers two options

According to the code, the function will be called "OS Recovery" and will work like the well-known "macOS Internet Recovery". In addition to the iPhone and iPad, other devices will also be able to benefit from it. However, the new feature will support both wireless and wired recovery. It is possible to connect the affected device to another iPhone or iPad - the process would in principle be carried out on the migration feature According to 9to5mac, it is currently not possible to implement the function itself as it is still under development. This means that the corresponding code could be removed or changed or appear in a later iOS version. (Photo by anilbolukbas / Bigstockphoto)
