How about a new iMac? Preferably made of curved glass? A real eye-catcher, right? The device isn't available yet - but a new Apple patent gives us hope.
The iMac is not just a work machine. The Apple device is also a timeless design object that decorates every room. But how could Apple revolutionize the eye-catcher in terms of design? The answer can be found in a newly published Apple patent. It is about a device that consists of a single curved piece of glass. The patent states that patent description:
An electronic device may include a glass housing member having an upper portion defining a display area, a lower portion defining an input area, and a transition portion connecting the upper portion and the lower portion and defining a continuous curved surface between the upper and lower portions. The electronic device may include a display coupled to the glass housing member and configured to provide a visual output in the display area. The electronic device may include an input device coupled to the glass housing member and configured to detect inputs in the input area. The electronic device may include a support structure coupled to the glass housing member and configured to support the computing device.
Integrated docking station for MacBooks available
The device described by Apple essentially consists of a single piece of glass that is curved at the bottom and acts as an input surface. The top part houses the display, while a tethered device on the back contains all the important components and also provides support. As the patent suggests, the front surface could also be used as a docking station for a MacBook. Such a device would attract a lot of attention and would certainly be promising.
