Daniels' casting is also interesting because it is reminiscent of his well-known role in the series "The Newsroom." There he played news anchor Will McAvoy and won an Emmy for his performance.

The fourth season of "The Morning Show" ended last November. Apple TV has not yet announced an official release date for season 5.

Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt told The Hollywood Reporter, however, that things might move faster this time. Seasons 3 and 4 experienced a lengthy delay due to a writers' strike. Since there is no strike this year, production could proceed more quickly.
