The time has come. The long-awaited update for selected LG TVs from the 2019 series has been officially released. Compatible models will now have access to the Apple TV app.

With the Apple TV app, LG TV owners can also subscribe to Apple TV Channels - direct subscriptions to premium video services available both online and offline, ad-free and on-demand - and access their iTunes video library and buy or rent over 100,000 movies and TV shows. A quick click on the LG Magic Remote is all it takes to get started.

LG TV owners can now access the Apple TV app via the LG Home App Launcher and access the content at any time. Supported devices include those models that are already compatible with AirPlay 2. This means that the Apple TV app is now available on the 2019 LED devices and the NanoCell TVs (SM9X and SM8X series). According to LG, the app will be added to selected UHD UM7X and UM6X models later this month. The company has also emphasized that owners of LG devices from 2018 will also be taken into account. Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
