In a few days, Apple will introduce at least one brand new Mac with an Apple Silicon processor. Now an unconfirmed benchmark has appeared on the Internet.
The chip that will be at the heart of the first Apple Silicon Mac - the "A14X" - may have been benchmarked just days before the next Apple event. The alleged CPU benchmarks for the "A14X" show a 1.80 GHz processor capable of turbo boosting to 3.10 GHz. This is said to be Apple's first in-house Apple Silicon processor to clock above 3 GHz. Specifically, it is said to be an 8-core processor. The GPU results show that 8 GB of RAM will be included with the processor. The single-core benchmark for the "A14X" resulted in 1634 points compared to the A12Z's 1118 points. As a reminder, the A14 scored 1,583 points in the single-core test. The multi-core benchmark for the “A14X” scored a whopping 7220 points compared to the A12Z with 4657.
A14X could outperform Intel Core i9 processor in MacBook Pro 16″
The A14 scored “only” 4198 points in the multi-core test, which means that the “A14X” offers a significant performance increase in the various environments that the GeekBench test suite focuses on. The additional memory and graphics capabilities increase this result several times over than with a “normal” iPhone processor. For comparison: a 16-inch MacBook Pro with the Intel Core i9 processor achieves 1096 points in the single-core test and 6869 points in the multi-core test. This means that the supposed “A14X” chip exceeds the performance of the existing MacBook Pro range by a considerable amount.
