Apple has surprisingly released iOS 13.5.1, iPadOS 13.5.1, tvOS 13.4.6, watchOS 6.2.6 and a new version of macOS Catalina 10.15.5 for all users.

Apple recently released various software updates for all users. Now follow-up updates have been rolled out. According to Apple, these are important security updates. For iOS 13.5.1 and iPadOS 13.5.1, the first recently published Jailbreak is now ineffective. This is how Apple explains on its own website:

iOS 13.5.1 & iPadOS 13.5.1

Available for: iPhone 6s and later, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch 7.

Impact: An application may be able to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges

Description: A memory consumption issue was fixed with improved memory handling.

CVE-2020-9859: un0ver

The release notes, however, were kept short. They state:

iOS 13.5.1 includes important security updates and is recommended for all users. Some features may not be available in all regions or on all Apple devices.

In addition to the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV, the HomePod can also be updated. You can find all the new features in iOS 13.5 here read. (Photo by iqoncept / Bigstockphot)

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
