Apple has announced the winners of the 2025 App Store Awards. The annual selection showcases the apps and games currently driving the strongest trends in the Apple ecosystem. The iPhone App of the Year award went to Tiimo, a task management app that impressed with its clear structure and practical features. A total of 17 apps and games were selected for setting new standards in innovation, user experience, and design.

The App Store Awards are considered a benchmark for which developments will be important to Apple. Every year, Apple emphasizes how strongly developers shape the experience on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. In his statement, Tim Cook highlighted that innovative apps enrich lives worldwide and that the award-winning projects reflect precisely this creativity. Each winning app and game receives a physical App Store Award, underscoring its special significance.

  • Tiimo has been named iPhone App of the Year. The app focuses on visual orientation, simple planning, and clear workflows, demonstrating what productivity tools can look like on Apple devices.
  • Detail won the award for iPad App of the Year. The app makes optimal use of the tablet's strengths and demonstrates how versatile the iPad can be in everyday creative work.
  • Essayist was named Mac App of the Year. The app is aimed at anyone who wants to write in a structured way and uses the macOS environment for focused work.
  • Explore POV was chosen as Apple's Vision Pro App of the Year. The app demonstrates the potential of spatial computing for immersive content.
  • Strava has been awarded Apple Watch App of the Year. The app combines training data and motivation, seamlessly integrating with the Apple Watch's features.
  • HBO Max secured the title of Apple TV App of the Year. The platform demonstrates how streaming content can be organized conveniently and clearly on Apple TV.

Games of the Year

  • Pokémon TCG Pocket is the iPhone game of the year. The digital trading card game relies on clear mechanics and a modern design.
  • DREDGE won in the iPad Game of the Year category. The game is known for its atmosphere and depth of gameplay, and makes good use of the iPad's larger display.
  • Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition won the Mac Game of the Year award. This version demonstrates just how powerful Apple Silicon chips have become in gaming.
  • Porta Nubi was named Apple Vision Pro Game of the Year. The game uses three-dimensional environments and demonstrates the possibilities of mixed reality.
  • WHAT THE CLASH? won the Apple Arcade category. The game stands for creative game design and quick access without complex entry barriers.

Apps with cultural impact

Each year, Apple recognizes apps that make a social or cultural impact. This category demonstrates that software can be not only functional but also relevant to everyday experiences.

The projects Art of Fauna, Chants of Sennaar, despote, Be My Eyes, Focus Friend, and StoryGraph received awards. These projects represent diversity, accessibility, reflection, or creative inspiration.
