At first, it was only above the entrance to a concert hall in London. Now, the new Apple Music logo is included in the third beta of iOS 27.2 – a clear sign that Apple is completely revamping the look of its music service.
Aaron Perris discovered the new logo in today's beta version and documented his find with a screenshot on iOS X. The beta had only been released to developers a few hours earlier as the third test version of iOS 27.2.
The lettering was first seen in September when Apple unveiled the Apple Music Hall, its own concert hall in London. At that time, the logo could still be interpreted as a separate branding element for the venue.
Key Facts at a Glance
- iOS 27.2 Beta 3 uses a new logo for Apple Music.
- The logo uses a bolder font and a lowercase design.
- Apple first showcased it in September for the Apple Music Hall in London.
- Apple now also uses the logo in short videos on Instagram that have nothing to do with the concert hall.
From the concert hall to the system
The Apple Music Hall website features the new logo in two versions: light in the header, dark in the footer. The bold font complements the overall look of the concert hall, which initially left it unclear whether Apple would use it beyond this venue.

This question can now be answered from two perspectives. Apple uses the logo in short videos on Instagram that have no connection to the Apple Music Hall. And with the iOS 27.2 beta, it has arrived in the operating system itself.
What changes in the appearance
The new logo departs from the previous, rather understated lettering. It uses a significantly bolder typeface and lowercase letters. This makes the service's name visually more prominent than before.
A rebranding in stages
I consider the discovery in the beta to be the decisive step. A logo that only hangs on a concert hall is event branding – one that's embedded in iOS affects every user. I expect the new logo to arrive with the final version of iOS 27.2 for everyone, and Apple to gradually update the remaining locations.
For subscribers in Germany, only the appearance of the app will change. The last noticeable change was something else entirely: Apple Music became more expensive in Germany in July. Anyone currently considering whether the service is still worthwhile can find the differences in the Apple Music vs. Spotify comparison. All previous news about the service is compiled on the Apple Music page.
