According to Apple, the issue affects a very small percentage of Mac mini (2023) models with the M2 chip. The affected devices were manufactured between June 16, 2024, and November 23, 2024. These devices may suddenly fail to turn on. Apple does not provide a specific technical reason for the issue. All that is clear is that it is a power-related issue.
- Important: Only M2 Mac mini devices from the specified production period are affected. Other models—such as those with the M1 chip or M2 Pro—are not included in this service program.
How to find out if your device is one of them
To check if your Mac mini is eligible for the service program, you need to enter your device's serial number on the Apple website . There's a form there that will immediately tell you whether your model is eligible. You can find the serial number in macOS under "About This Mac" or directly on the bottom of the device.
