Apple is about to open the next chapter in its iPhone history. In 2025, the company is expected to launch a new model called the iPhone 17 Air. This slimmer device could replace the current iPhone Plus. Although the iPhone 16 has just been released, there are already many rumors about what the iPhone 17 Air could bring. Below, we take a look at the information so far.

With each new iPhone generation, Apple brings certain design improvements to the market. After the iPhone 16 was just introduced, attention is already turning to the upcoming iPhone 17 series and thus also to the Air. This model is supposed to replace the previous Plus model and come with a slimmer design and new features. In recent months, numerous rumors have been circulating about the iPhone 17 Air, which further increase the anticipation.

Overview: Rumors and Facts

Design: Thinner and lighter

The iPhone 17 Air will probably have a much thinner design. Instead of a titanium case, which is used in the Pro models, Apple is said to be using an aluminum case, which reduces the weight. In addition, the Dynamic Island - the area around the front camera - could be narrower. This is made possible, among other things, by a more compact Face ID technology.

Display: Smaller size, same quality

The iPhone 17 Air's display is expected to be between 6.55 and 6.6 inches, making it slightly smaller than the iPhone 16 Plus, which has a 6.7-inch display. Nevertheless, the quality of the display is expected to be improved by ProMotion technology, which enables a smoother display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

Cameras: New position and fewer lenses

One particular rumor concerns the position of the cameras. These could be located in the upper center of the back of the iPhone 17 Air - a first for Apple, as the cameras have always been in the upper left corner. It is also suspected that the iPhone 17 Air could possibly only be equipped with a rear camera.

ProMotion for all models

ProMotion, the technology that allows the refresh rate to be adjusted dynamically, will also be used for the first time on the non-Pro models. This could result in the display offering a refresh rate of up to 1 Hz in sleep mode, which could extend battery life and enable the always-on display.

Selfie Camera: An Upgrade

The front camera of the iPhone 17 Air is expected to get an upgrade. According to analysts, it will be upgraded to 24 megapixels, which would mean an improvement in image quality, especially for selfies and video calls. However, this change is expected to be extended to the entire iPhone range.

Hardware: More power, more memory

The iPhone 17 Air could feature the new A19 chip, which is based on the latest 3-nanometer technology. The device is also expected to have 8 GB of RAM, which will ensure smooth performance even with demanding applications. There are also indications that Apple could develop its own 5G modem that will be used in the iPhone 17 Air.

Price: More expensive than the Pro Max?

The sleek design and new features could also bring with it a higher price tag. It is speculated that the iPhone 17 Air could be more expensive than the current Pro Max model, which starts at around 1,449 euros. Despite the higher price, the new design is expected to attract many customers.

An interesting choice: The iPhone 17 Air in focus

The iPhone 17 Air could be an exciting new model in the iPhone lineup. With its sleek design, improved cameras, and ProMotion technology, it could be an attractive option for those looking for a stylish and powerful smartphone. However, the higher price could be worth considering. More details are sure to emerge before the official launch in fall 2025. If you're in the market for a new iPhone, the iPhone 17 Air could be an interesting choice. Looking for accessories from top brands?
