This means the release won't happen for at least two years. Apple typically launches new AirPods in the fall—so it's likely that the AirPods Max 2 won't be released until fall 2027 at the earliest. Until then, Apple will continue to support the current model. The recently released USB-C version alone received three software updates, suggesting that Apple intends to support the first model even longer.
