If the latest rumors are to be believed, Apple is planning a number of product updates this year. While the iPhone 12 is set to appear in a new design, the Mac and iPad range will also be updated. A new HomePod is also set to appear - at a lower price.

The news page Bloomberg has published a new report that provides insight into Apple's 2020 plans. Let's start with the iPhone 12 series. According to the information, the iPhone 12 series will include four new models, with at least two of them coming in a new design. According to the report, the redesigned case will appear with flat sides, stainless steel edges and sharper rounded corners. Basically, the new iPhone will be designed in the same way as the iPad Pro 2018 or 2020 model. The Face ID module - the TrueDepth camera - will get a smaller notch. These statements match previous reports - except for the design question. So far, sources have reported on an iPhone lineup with a new design. It has not yet been claimed that only two out of four devices could get a new design. Only recently pictures published, which are said to be from an internal repair manual and show an iPhone 12 with a smaller notch. According to Bloomberg, Apple is still working on a method to completely remove the notch, but that could take some time. The report also emphasizes that only two of the four iPhone 12 devices will have the LiDAR scanner.

New HomePod and AirTags in leather case

Furthermore, Bloomberg believes that a market launch of all four models at the same time is unlikely. The reason is the ongoing Corona crisis. This confirms a report published at the weekend, according to which the high-end model could be delayed. The news channel then explains that a new HomePod model is to be released this year. This will be smaller and cheaper than the current Siri smart speaker. Apple wants to become more competitive with it. Reports that Apple is working on a HomePod with only two tweeters instead of seven have been around for over a year. Even then, the launch in 2020 was promised. It remains unclear what the smaller HomePod might cost. In addition to the iPhone and HomePod, the topic of AirTags was also briefly touched upon. According to this, Apple plans to deliver them in a leather case with a key chain. Regarding their form factor, Bloomberg explained that AirTags are thin, small and puck-shaped. The launch is scheduled to take place in 2020. However, the news site did not give a specific time frame. Apple's price idea is also said to be completely unknown. Finally, Bloomberg noted that a new Apple TV model as well as updates to existing iPads, MacBook Pros and iMac devices are also planned. (Photo by Alexstockphoto / Bigstockphoto)
