Apple's next MacBook Pro lineup could include an updated FaceTime camera. A leaker claims the webcam will increase in resolution to 1080p.

Apple's 24-inch iMac features a 1080p FaceTime camera above the display, a notable update for a component that has long been at 720p. The upcoming MacBook Pro models, due to be released in late 2021, could see the same upgrade. Let's be honest - it's about time! Whatever the case, the FaceTime upgrade was reported by iOS developer and leaker "@Dylandkt" on Twitter The company claims that the upcoming MacBook Pro will "get an updated, improved 1080p webcam." Currently, the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air all use a 720p FaceTime camera. Although the M1 MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro deserve an upgrade, Apple has decided to continue using the outdated camera.

Why actually? Probably to save costs. Whatever. As a reminder: If rumors and leaks are to be believed, Apple will introduce a MacBook Pro - in two sizes, 14 and 16 inches - with an HDMI port and an SD card slot. In addition, MagSafe technology is also set to make a comeback. But that's not all. The new MacBook Pros are said to be equipped with eight high-performance cores and two high-efficiency cores, which are available in either a 16- or 32-graphics core version. The processor is most likely the so-called M1X chip. In addition, the Touch Bar is to be omitted in favor of physical buttons and mini-LED technology is to be used for the display technology. In terms of release, the third quarter of 2021 has been suggested several times - whether this will ultimately happen remains to be seen, of course, as always. (Photo by Unsplash / Sergey Zolkin)
