Particularly striking: a revised camera design that differs significantly from the previous layout. The leak comes from well-known Apple leaker Majin Bu. He has published several images that appear to be marketing materials from a previously unknown case manufacturer. According to Bu, the images are not simply technical sketches, but rather finished renderings of the type normally used for advertising purposes. The images show the iPhone 17 Pro in several colors and with a striking camera bar. Leaker Sonny Dickson had previously shared similar information. Even though Bu hasn't always been correct in the past—for example, with his claim that the iPhone 15 will have two front-facing cameras—much of his preliminary information turns out to be correct. Camera bar instead of camera block
What immediately catches the eye: The previous square camera module is replaced by an elongated camera bar. The cameras are located on the left within the bar. The flash and LiDAR sensor are housed on the right. This design is significantly more symmetrical and appears cleaner than the previous setup. Case colors and design options
The renderings show various color variants of the cases: off-white, light blue, light green, a light purple, and a darker charcoal gray. The camera bar itself is mostly white, but in one case, it's also dark gray. This suggests that Apple could retain similar color tones as with the iPhone 16 Pro—at least in terms of the case (via X).
Technical rumors about the iPhone 17 Pro
In addition to the new design, there are also some technical specifications that have been circulating in recent weeks. According to several reports, Apple is said to be using vapor chamber cooling for the iPhone for the first time. This technology ensures better heat dissipation and could be particularly beneficial during extended use and with graphics-intensive applications. Another rumor concerns the RAM. A 12 GB RAM upgrade is mentioned. Combined with the expected A19 processor, the device should be noticeably more powerful than its predecessors.
How credible is all this?
Majin Bu isn't the only one pointing out the new camera design. Sonny Dickson also published photos in March and April, which also showed the new camera bar. The fact that case manufacturers are now apparently adopting this design suggests that it's not just a concept, but a concrete layout considered in production. Even if Bu isn't always right, the timing of the release is interesting. Accessory manufacturers often get early access to design information so they can adapt their products in a timely manner.
