Apple is apparently working on a new iCloud feature that will make it easier to invite people to events, parties and meetings. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, this service, codenamed "Confetti," could be released as early as this week. The first clues about it were already found in the code of iOS 18.3, which was released last week. What exactly is behind "Confetti," whether it will be a standalone app or integrated into existing Apple services, is still unclear. What is certain, however, is that Apple could further develop the type of event planning in its ecosystem.
Apple is continuously expanding its iCloud services to make them even more useful for users' everyday lives. In addition to storing data, photos and backups, event planning could soon play a larger role. While invitations previously had to be organized via the calendar or external services, "Confetti" could offer a new, integrated solution. So far there is little information about how exactly the new function will work, but the discoveries in the iOS 18.3 code and Gurman's statements suggest that Apple will make an official announcement shortly.
What is “Confetti”?
"Confetti" is intended to offer a new way to send and manage invitations to various events, meetings and more directly via Apple devices. It is not yet known whether this is an extension of existing apps such as the calendar or whether a separate app has been developed for it.

Last month, the guys from 9to5Mac found notes on a possible new app called "Invites". This is also said to have iCloud integration and is specifically designed for organizing meetings and events. The new information from Mark Gurman suggests that it could be "Confetti".
How could “Confetti” work?
The most likely option is a direct integration into iCloud. Users could then send invitations directly from the app, similar to how they do with appointments in the calendar. Possible functions could be:
- Creating events and sending invitations via iCloud
- synchronization with calendar and reminders
- Real-time updates on acceptances or cancellations of invited persons
- Possibly a link to iMessage to send invitations via message
If Apple integrates the new feature into an existing app, the most likely option would be the calendar. However, a standalone app would offer more flexibility and could include more features.
When could “Confetti” be released?
Gurman goes assume that Apple could announce the function as early as next week. Since it is linked to iOS 18.3, the release could take place soon. If it is a new app, a later release via the App Store is also conceivable.
Apple could simplify event planning
With "Confetti," Apple could offer a new way to organize events directly in its ecosystem. While many details are still unclear, the indications are that the feature will be introduced soon.
