There has been a lot of reporting about the Apple Car in recent days and weeks. Now Apple and Hyundai are said to have paused negotiations.

In recent weeks, some reports have suggested that Apple is looking to partner with Hyundai to produce the Apple Car. Now, a new report from Bloomberg suggests that the two companies recently paused their talks. Hyundai made a very surprising statement last month. The company confirmed talks with Apple involving a car. Shortly after, the automaker corrected the statement. In the revised version, Apple was no longer mentioned by name.

Apple Car: Apple is very "angry"

As the news continued, various sources reported that both companies wanted to negotiate a deal that would see an autonomous electric car with the apple logo - the Apple Car. To be precise, Hyundai's subsidiary Kia Motors is to take over production. Apple's investment should be around 3.6 billion US dollars. But now Bloomberg is reporting that Apple has put the brakes on negotiations with Hyundai. The reason is probably obvious. Bloomberg claims to have learned that Apple is very "angry" about Hyundai's press release. It is currently unclear whether the two companies will resume their talks. The Cupertino-based iPhone producer is Bloomberg but also other sources According to the company, it is in talks with several car manufacturers. writes Bloomberg:

How many are interested in working with Apple?

This announcement and other reports of talks have angered Apple. Development projects have been kept secret for years and relationships with suppliers are controlled with ruthless efficiency.

It's unclear if - or when - talks between Apple and Hyundai might resume. There are only a handful of global automakers with the capacity and ability to mass produce vehicles, and it's unclear how many of them would be interested in working with Apple.

It remains to be seen how the whole thing will develop in the near future. But since the rumors are currently piling up, it shouldn't be long before the next sources comment on the topic. (Photo by kolonko / Bigstockphoto)
