There are now reports about the Apple Car “almost” every day. Now new rumors about Apple’s car plans are causing shares of Japanese car manufacturers to rise.

According to new reports, Apple is in talks with “at least” six car manufacturers about producing an Apple Car, including some Japanese companies that may have the capacity to take on the project. writes Nikkei:

Apple appears to be in talks with several automakers, including Japanese ones, to produce electric vehicles (EVs). On February 3, CNBC reported that negotiations with Kia, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Co. in South Korea, are close to a deal. "At least six companies are in talks," said a supplier executive. Automakers are being forced to make difficult decisions about whether to accept the "horizontal division of labor" model that separates design, development and production.

Apple Car: It shouldn't stay with one partner

This “division of labor” could be the key to who ultimately accepts a possible offer from Apple. is called it at Bloomberg:

Tatsuo Yoshida, a senior analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, said Japanese automakers are usually too busy with their own development, production, sales and customer service to take on a task like working with Apple. However, Nissan Motor Co. or Mitsubishi Motors Corp. don't have much work and are somewhat idle, so they could be a good fit.

Only recently it was reported reportedthat Apple is close to closing a deal with Hyundai and its subsidiary Kia worth $3.6 billion. The deal includes the production of 100,000 vehicles per year. Production is to take place at Kia's US plant in West Point Georgia. Another report claims that Kia is already looking for production partners to ensure that the Apple Car can be produced in this quantity. In the past, it has been claimed that Apple wants to win over various car manufacturers for its own car project. According to this, it will not stop at just one. (Photo by TierneyMJ / Bigstockphoto)
