The rumors surrounding new over-ear headphones from the AirPods series have been increasing rapidly in recent weeks. While both the name and features were unknown for a long time, there are now more details about the new product. If the latest leak is to be believed, Apple's new high-end headphones are more intelligent than all competing models.

The possible marketing name of the new over-ear headphones was recently revealed. The well-known YouTuber Jon Prosser claims to have learned from his source that the new audio accessories will be called “AirPods Studio“ will enter the race. Cost: around 349 US dollars. Now the US blog 9to5mac the latest findings on the functions. The information comes from people who are familiar with the product. Accordingly, the AirPods Studio will have ear detection like the normal AirPods. But this is supposed to be more intelligent. This means that the headphones have special sensors that can detect whether the headphones are on the head or neck. Playback should be played or paused accordingly. If the user takes the headphones off completely, they switch off automatically. In addition, the AirPods Studio will be able to recognize the left and right ear individually in order to be able to route the audio channels correctly. Accordingly, there will probably not be a fixed left and right side like with previous products.

AirPods Studio: Smarter than the competition

Furthermore, the new Apple headphones, like the AirPods Pro, will have active and transparent noise cancellation. Users can easily switch between the two modes. Because Apple wants to appeal primarily to professional users with the AirPods Studio, the headphones will have custom equalizers. This means that users can customize the equalizer on the connected device (iOS / macOS) and save the settings. Depending on which device the AirPods Studio is paired with, the respective setting is automatically called up. When Apple will actually introduce the new audio accessories was not mentioned in the report. Some believe that Apple will present the new AirPods Studio as part of this year's WWDC 2020 could unveil, although the market launch is not scheduled until autumn.
