Apple recently released the sixth beta of iOS 13 and iPadOS released for developers. Some bugs were fixed and additional functions were added and optimized.
In general, the changes in the current beta are smaller than in the previous versions. This is because the beta is now in an advanced phase. Nevertheless, the new features and optimizations in the sixth beta of iOS 13 and iPadOS are worth mentioning.
- Dark Mode in the Control Center – There is a new control in Control Center that allows you to enable or disable system-wide dark mode on iOS 13 and iPadOS.
- App folder – Apple has changed the folder transparency in the sixth beta of iOS 13 and iPadOS. From now on, the folder backgrounds adapt better to the actual home screen.
- Hide link preview – When a link is touched using 3D Touch, an additional window opens with several options. These include functions such as opening the link, adding to reading list and more. With the current beta, another option has been added – hide link preview.
- announce news – The feature that allows Siri to announce incoming text messages – for example when using AirPods 2 or Powerbeats Pro – has been removed with the current beta.
- three-finger tap – Testers can now display the undo, redo, cut, copy and paste symbols using the three-finger tap. It is currently suspected that this is a bug.
- background tracking – In iOS 13, users are warned when an app is tracking in the background. In the current beta, the warning text has been revised. It now reads: "Do you want to continue to allow the use of background locations?" instead of "Do you want to continue to allow this?"
- Bluetooth – When a device is connected and/or synchronized via Bluetooth, iOS 13 will warn users that the app “can also use Bluetooth to locate the position”.
- Photos – There is now a new welcome screen in the Photos app that highlights all the new features within the application on iOS 13. (All new features in Photos under iOS 13)
- App Store – There is a new welcome screen in the App Store application that introduces Apple Arcade and all the changes for app updates.
- Volume – As part of the sixth beta of iOS 13 and iPadOS, Apple has once again revised the redesigned volume icon. Since the fifth beta, the control has had 34 volume levels – these have now been reduced to 16.
- LTE symbol – The LTE/4G icon has also been slightly redesigned. Under the fifth beta, the icon appeared a bit thicker – Apple has resized it to its original size.
- Analytics Privacy Policy – There's a new paragraph in Apple's Analytics privacy policy: "If you agree to send Analytics information to Apple from multiple devices that use the same iCloud account, we may correlate some Apple application usage data across those devices by syncing it with end-to-end encryption. We do this in a way that doesn't identify you to Apple."
- Apple Pay Privacy Policy Apple has also slightly revised its own Apple Pay privacy policy. This now includes location data collection for Apple Card. It states: "Apple Pay Merchant Identification: Your iPhone uses your current location to provide more accurate merchant names when you use your physical Apple Card."
- site privacy policy – There's also a new change in the Location Privacy Policy: "System Adaptation: Your iPhone adapts the look, behavior, and settings of the system to your current location, for example, by automatically enabling Smart Charging when you're at home. This adaptation data never leaves your device."
