Pryce Cahill is making a comeback no one expected: Apple TV has released the first trailer for the second season of "Stick." Owen Wilson returns as a washed-up golf pro - and gets a coach who now has an Emmy on her shelf.

Apple has released the trailer for the second season of "Stick". The release date itself has been set since August: Season 2 premieres on November 4th with a double episode.

Besides the trailer, what's new is the status of the most prominent newcomer. Rhea Seehorn plays the trainer Amanda and has won her first Emmy since the announcement. "Stick" is thus among the premieres that will shape the lineup on Apple TV in fall 2026.

Key Facts at a Glance

  • Apple TV has released the trailer for the second season of "Stick".
  • The ten episodes will start on Wednesday, November 4th, with two episodes, followed by one episode per week until December 30th.
  • New to the cast is Rhea Seehorn as trainer Amanda, now an Emmy winner.
  • There are 469 days between the finale of the first season and the start of the second season.

Pryce wants to become the oldest major winner

In the first season, Owen Wilson, as Pryce Cahill, pinned all his hopes on the young golf talent Santi, played by Peter Dager. In season two, Santi tentatively approaches professional golf and discovers how quickly talent can become expectations.

Pryce turns the tables. Spurred on by his former rival Clark Ross (Timothy Olyphant), he attempts a comeback, aiming to become the oldest golfer in history to win a major. Amanda joins him as his new coach, and Mitts (Marc Maron) as his caddie.

Joining the familiar cast of Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, and Judy Greer are John Higgins, Billy Zane, Rex Linn, Sasha Alexander, and Missi Pyle, in addition to Seehorn. Golf commentators Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman also make guest appearances.

Seehorn arrives as an Emmy winner

When Apple announced the second season in August, they introduced Seehorn as an Emmy-nominated Golden Globe winner. That has changed: At the Emmys in September, she won the award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Carol in "Pluribus".

In "Stick," she switches from drama to comedy, remaining with Apple TV. Apple now lists her in its press release as an Emmy and Golden Globe winner.

Longer break, longer running time

The second season comes after a break of about 15 months and runs a week longer than the first, because two episodes instead of three will be released at the start.

The broadcast falls right in the middle of the holidays: episode nine will air on December 23rd, and the finale on December 30th. New episodes will be released every Wednesday, just like in the first season.

Golf as a Christmas program

I think the timing is well chosen. "Stick" is a feel-good comedy, and the final two episodes, airing between Christmas and New Year's, are likely to appeal to viewers with time to spare. The fact that Seehorn won her first Emmy shortly before the premiere should bring additional attention to the second season.

Anyone wanting to catch up on the first season has just under four weeks until November 4th to watch ten episodes of around 30 minutes each.

Is a golf comeback with Owen Wilson and Rhea Seehorn enough of a reason for you to stay tuned to Apple TV over the holidays, or do you prefer to wait until all the episodes are available? Tell us in the comments how you watch series on a weekly basis.
