"AirPods are the world's best-selling headphones. The one-tap setup experience, incredible sound and iconic design have made them a beloved Apple product and with AirPods Pro we're taking the magic even further" – said Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing.
The new AirPods Pro come in a completely new in-ear design and feature noise cancellation in two different modes. Users can choose between active noise cancellation and transparency mode. On the subject of noise cancellation, Apple writes the following:
"Active Noise Cancellation on AirPods Pro uses two microphones combined with advanced software to continuously adjust to the individual fit of the ear and earbud. This removes background noise to provide a uniquely customized, high-quality noise cancellation experience that allows a user to focus on what they're listening to - whether it's a favorite song or a phone call."
Pairing the new AirPods Pro with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV is the same as with their predecessors. In addition to the plugs, the charging case also has a new shape - it is now elongated. Apple describes the sound quality as excellent.
"AirPods Pro deliver superior sound quality with Adaptive EQ, which automatically tunes the low and mid frequencies of music to the shape of each ear - resulting in an intense, immersive listening experience. A custom high dynamic range amplifier produces pure, incredibly clear sound while extending battery life and powers a custom, high-excursion, low-distortion speaker driver that optimizes audio quality and removes background noise." – says the company.
AirPods Pro – Features
The transparency mode is primarily intended for users on the street. It allows you to listen to music and traffic at the same time without putting the user in danger. The AirPods Pro have the H1 chip, which has 10 audio cores. In addition to the new features, the AirPods Pro also offer all the previous functions. This means that the command "Hey Siri" can also be executed here. They also support new features such as "Announce messages with Siri", audio sharing and more. There is also news on the subject of battery life. The new charging case provides a total of 24 hours of battery life - the plugs themselves only need 4.5 hours per charge. The charging case can of course also be charged wirelessly - alternatively, it can be charged with a lightning cable as before. The new AirPods Pro are also sweat and water resistant, but are not suitable for water sports.
Price and availability
The new AirPods Pro can now be pre-ordered from Apple for a total of 279.00 euros. Delivery will begin on October 30th. They are only available in white.
