Adobe released Photoshop on the iPad at the beginning of November. Now the company is adding a promised feature with version 1.1.
When Adobe was released on the iPad, some important features were missing because they were not ready. But now the company has released a new update that includes one of the promised features. From now on, users can use the "Select Subject" function. This is a feature that significantly simplifies the process of complex and detailed image selection. Machine learning with Adobe Sensei plays a major role here. In addition to the promised function, working with cloud documents has been significantly improved in version 1.1. The update also fixes some bugs, of course. You can read the entire update description verbatim below.
Photoshop for iPad version 1.1:
- Select Subject is available from the Selection Tools menu. Long-press or double-tap the Selection tool and choose Select Subject. A precise selection will now automatically be drawn around the main subject of the layer.
- Working with cloud documents has been significantly improved. This particularly affects the uploading and downloading of files. Cloud documents can now be opened even faster in Photoshop.
- The dark mode setting in Photoshop can be adjusted to match the iPadOS setting.
Numerous common bugs have been fixed, including:
- UI: Optimization of layer thumbnails, tool options, closing popovers and updating in offline mode
- Brush Painting: Fixed bugs where unwanted brush strokes appeared when masking or expected brush strokes were not displayed
- Placing images: Updated Creative Cloud Libraries to properly sync folders, fixed issues with licensed photos and watermarks from Adobe Stock
- Text: Fixed capitalization errors, fixed undo issues on new layers and Japanese text
- Inputs: Fixed keyboard and UI bugs by updating Gaussian Blur and touch shortcut tools
- Other: Fixed bugs that caused crashes when opening files, as well as bugs that disrupted correct dimensions and the split view of interfaces (Photo by Michael Shake / Bigstockphoto)
